After Summit 21, I had the opportunity to attend the BLK Oasis event, created by BLK+GRN. BLK +GRN is an online marketplace that promotes holistic living and supports Black Artistans through a curated shop of all-natural products. These products include skin care, wellness, home care, baby care, body care, hair care, jewelry and more. This curated shop was created by Dr. Kristian H. This event was held by The Gathering Spot.

When I first walked into the space, I immediately felt at ease and comfortable with all the black women in the room. All these women were excited about all the beauty products and opportunity in this one space. At the entrance, I received an cue card for writing down all the products used in my consultations. Then, I was off!

My Cue Card

Skin Consultation

1. Chae Skincare “The Glow”
$42.00 USD
Size: 4 oz

This solid form cleanser was amazing on my skin and gave my skin the clean feeling without making my skin feel dry. It’s made of cold-pressed argan oil from Moccoro. It brought some moisture back into my skin with the argan oil and didn’t give it the oily look that comes with oil cleansing. This solid cleanser also works best with the Mihakka, a handcrafted with terra-cottam virgin wool and dyed with flowers & clay native to the Atlas Mountains. The Mihakka helps exfolated the skin with this product.

Ingredients:

100% Pure Saponified Argan Oil

2. Micellar Cucumber Aloe Facial Cleansing Water
$20.00 USD
Size: 100 oz

To cleanse the cleanser off, this micellar water was used to bring more moisture into the skin. Since the cleanser was solid, this was the perfect solution to remove it. This coolness of the cucumber helped reduce the redness of skin. Similar to a double cleanse.

Ingredients:
Distilled water, Caprylyl glucoside, glycerin, Cucumber extract, Chamomile extract, Calendula extract, B5, Glycerin (and) Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate (and) Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract (and) Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Extract (and) Populus Tremuloides Bark Extract (and) Gluconolactone.
3. Jacq’s Ravitalizing Facial Toner
$20.00 USD
Size: 2 oz
This product smelled amazing and helped balance of my skin’s P.H.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), *Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis Linn (Hibiscus), *Mentha Citrus Sinesis (Orange Mint), Rosa Centifolia (Rose), *Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, *Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, *Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, *Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Extract, *Echinacea Purpurea Extract, *Rumex (Yellow Dock) Crispus Extract, *Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, *Rosa Moschata (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Seed Oil, *Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Ubiquinone (CoQ10), Leucidal Liquid (Radish Root Ferment) and Pure Essential Oils . *Certified Organic
4. Chae Skincare “The Afterglow” Oil
$58.00 USD
Size 1/2 oz (15 ml)

This oil was refreshing and smelled amazing with the Neroli Oil. This abosptive oil was the perfect moisturizer before my sunscreen. You only use one or two drops all over your face.

Ingredients: Argania spinosa L. (Argan) Oil, Persea Americana (Avocado) Oil, Vitas Vinifera (Grape) seed oil, Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil, Opuntia ficus-indica (Barbary Fig) Seed Oil, Rosa damascene (Moroccan Rose) Flower Oil, Citrus Auarantium (Bergamot) Peel Oil , Citrus Aurantium Var Amara (Neroli) Oil, Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) Flower, Lavendula X Intermedia (Lavender) Flower, Jasminum Grandiflorum (Jasmine) Flower

5. Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30
$19.00 USD
Size: 3 oz

Black does crack without sunscreen. Sunscreen is important to the anti-age process and protection against skin cancer. The skin around our eyes, necks and hands are thin, sensitive and the first to age. This sunscreen does not leave an white cast and doesn’t have a scent. It can also be used as an moisturizer.

It includes Active Ingredients:

  •  Avobenzone: 3%
  •  Homosalate: 10%
  •  Octisalate: 5%

I had the opportunity to get my makeup done with these beautiful black makeup brands.

My foundation was a matte loose mineral foundation by Luv + Co. The makeup artist mixed the powder foundation with water to set my base. I was a mixture of M30 and M40.

My highlighter was a mist from Omglo Cosmetics. The shade was the golden color, Glowed Up. It was quick and easy to use.

I really enjoyed the experience. The small plant-based bites were yummy, the hosting space was amazing and the experience of all the black girl magic was beautiful! I didn’t get a chance to take the chair massages or the hair consultation. The products I bought were on my list for a while, and I do a review on those really soon!
