On August 5th, I was invited to speak at the Tailored Beauty Event with Curlfluence. They produced this free sampling party event to showcase the Tailored Beauty line of hair care products. Tailored Beauty is a hair care company that was created by Keya James that was looking for natural hair products that worked for her and her daughter’s hair. Keya has a natural hair care Youtube channel with her daughter, Summer.

If you are not familiar with Curlfluence, Curlfluence is an influencer marketing agency for women of color that pairs them with products that work for natural hair. Anyone can join the program, and they have been really helpful in getting products to me to experience & try. If you follow me on Instagram, I worked with Curlfuence to cover this Taliah Waajid’s World Natural Hair Show in the spring. I had an opportunity to speak about being an influencer in the hair care community, and how the Tailored Beauty products worked for me.

The Venue

The venue was beautiful. The event was located at the Kinks and Curls Natural Hair Boutique in Lawrenceville, GA.  It’s a black-owned hair salon that focuses on natural hair care. They also had black-owned product lines there like Miellé Organics, Curls, Tailored Beauty, Camille Rose Naturals and more. They also have their own natural oil bar where you can make your own oil blends. At the event, they had their hair stylists give demos using Tailored Beauty.

The Products

I am in love with this product line. I was excited to be gifted these products by Curlfuence originally and I definitely will say that this is one of the best product lines I have ever used. To start, I needed to wash my hair with a clarifying rinse from the product build up. I used an ACV rinse to start for a clean scalp. Then, I washed my hair with the Tailored Beauty Moisturizing Coconut Creme Shampoo*. I love the scent of the shampoo, and the scents are a huge deal for me. The next thing I love about it is how easy it spreads while cleansing my hair. I made sure to separate my hair. This will help evenly spread the product. I make sure I get all the ACV out. I conditioned my hair with the Tailored Beauty Coconut Creme Conditioner with Mango Butter.*

I also needed a deep condition with my hair. So, I did an overnight oil treatment with the Tailored Beauty Grow Thick Oil.* I styled my hair with the Perfect Coils Curling Jelly* and diffused my hair. If my hair needs some extra love, I use Everything Butter* that is perfect for my skin with the Shea butter. I would then lay down my edges with the Tailored Beauty Edge Control gel*, which is light and not flaky at all.

I loved how the products turned out in my hair. My curls are popping and I made sure to secure them with a bonnet & spraying them with the Moisturizing Mist.

Overall, I am super excited and thankful for these gifted products. My hair looks amazing, moisturized and feels soft.

Thanks to Curlfluence for gifting me these products and Tailored Beauty for allowing me to speak at your event. If you want to see a behind the scenes look of the event, head over to my Instagram to watch my “Tailored Beauty” saved Instastories highlight.
