When you have an opportunity to go to Miami, you don’t say no. Miami was filled with colorful visions and beautiful people. In December, Miami turns into an art hotspot. Wynwood Art District is changed each year during Art Basel to something new.

What is Art Basel?

Art Basel is art shows that take place in three key places: Basel in Switzerland, Hong Kong (a special administrative region in China), and Miami, Florida. These art shows happen at galleries across each city to showcase artwork, house workshops, and networking. Art Basel has now expanded to different cities like Athens, Geneva, Chicago, and more for their participating galleries to have small activitations.

Places to Visit

I visited the Wynwood Art District to explore and see the shops. This gives you an opportunity to see the street art and sometimes it’s painted live. I was excited to see the Le Labo Fragrance Store and Aesop Store. As a lover of beauty products, I had to stop in to try something. For Le Labo, I did try the Santal 33 and the Rose 31. The smell alone was so beautiful. I will be coming back to purchase.

Dining

For food, Miami was a joy to explore. Since it was busy, it was sometimes hard to find a place that wasn’t packed. BND Burgers is one that comes to mind. It was busy, but the food was excellent. I had the Veggie Burgers with fries. The atmosphere was great with hip hop inspired decor and music.

I came for an event at Art Basel. The event was a dinner at Gianni’s at the Former Versace Mansion. I had the opportunity to see closed off places to the public like Gianni’s bedroom. The decor alone was unforgettable with the Renaissance inspired paints. Since I was with a party, many of us shared the food family style. My favorite part of the night was the red wine. I had the Versace, Nero d’Avola IGT from Sicily, Italy. It is to die for.

Outfits

My vision for Miami was to fill myself with color and life. Since there was color everywhere, I wanted to pop with it. One of the main colors I chose was blue. For my event at Gianni’s, this jumpsuit from ASOS was perfect. I also had it tailored to perfection. For my hair and makeup, I had an inspiration from Ebonee Davis in Pyer Moss.

For my makeup, I used this shade Daydream 358 from the Sephora Collection on my eyelids. I used Volume ON! By Sephora in the shade Navy Blue 02 to frame my eyes. My foundation is Fenty Beauty Pro Fil’tr Soft Matter Foundation in shade 300. I concealed with Fenty Beauty Match Stick Matte Stick in shade Caramel and contoured with Black Radiance Beauty True Complexion Contour Palette in shade Medium to Dark. I highlighted with the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby. For my lips, I used the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow.

My trip to Miami was filled with bold colors, art, and style. I will be returning next December for the next Art Basel. Do you want to attend? Any artists that you want to see? To see the day to day of my trip in Miami, check out my Instagram Stories under the highlight ‘Miami’.
